    Default Cards Aggressively Pursuing Stanton

Cardinals Brass reportedly met today with Giancarlo representatives. Not confirmed by the club.

I hope they trade for him.

Both the Cardinals and Giants have deals on the table and have met with Stanton's representatives. It will be interesting to see how things are concluded.

There are some reports he may not be willing to come to St. Louis. All speculation at this point I think.

The number of conflicting reports is staggering.

The Cardinals have made a "compelling offer" to the Marlins for Stanton according to this report, and are awaiting Stanton's decision about being willing to play in St. Louis.

Our compelling offer is running up against multiple reports that Stanton doesn't want to come to St. Louis or is reluctant to come to St. Louis or that he is hoping that L.A. will engage in the discussions or that the decision will come down before or during the winter meetings, or that . . . . . never mind, no one really knows what is happening right now.

Yep. Maybe. Maybe not. One report says he wants to go to the Dodgers. But, so far, they haven't indicated they want him. Time will tell. But I doubt the Cards will wait very long before moving on to someone else.

These statements from the Cardinals brass make it sound like Stanton has turned them down and they will move to other options.

Derrick Goold posted this at the Post Dispatch. The Marlins might play hard-ball with Stanton. That might make him change his mind? But if he doesn't want to play for St. Louis, it is probably in their best interest to forget him.

Stanton has been traded to the New York Yankees (unless he decides to refuse the trade, which is unlikely). Boooo!

Stanton turned the Cardinals down & the Yankees stepped in to make the trade.
