Is all the furor about doping, location problems and professionalism that seems to now surround the Olympics going to spell doom for the event. I used to be an avid fan of the Olympics, but all its problems, most especially the dominance of professional athletes, has caused me to lose interest. I haven't watched any of it so far this year, and don't expect to do so.
The Olympics were developed to pit the world's best amateur athletes against each other, but that is long gone as a result of the emergence several years ago of professionalism of athletes from some countries, especially Russia, that led to all countries including the U. S. to send mostly paid athletes to the games. That is when it lost its appeal for me.
Go Cards in 2017!! Pitching is still the key!
